Spelled Pizza with Fresh Tomato Sauce
The perfect spelled pizza with fresh tomato sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Pizza dough for 2 baking trays
- 500 g Spelled flour
- 1 Yeast cubes
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- 250 ml Lukewarm water
- 1 tsp Salt
Tomato sauce for 2 baking trays
- 500 g Panicle tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Dried oregano
- 3 Garlic cloves chopped
- 1 Chopped onion
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- 1 Handful Basil leaves
Pizza dough
- Crumble the yeast in a cup and stir in a little water (from the 250 ml water) and the oil until smooth.
- Sift the flour in a large bowl and mix with the salt. Pour the dissolved yeast into the middle of the flour and knead briefly. Add the rest of the water and knead everything thoroughly, preferably with your hands, to form a dough.
- Cover the yeast dough and let it rest for 1 hour. Then knead again vigorously and roll out on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

- Wash the tomatoes, remove the stalk and cut into small cubes. Peel and roughly chop the garlic and onion.
- Heat the oil in a saucepan and sweat the onion and garlic (must not turn brown).
- Now add the tomato cubes and the spices and simmer on a low level for about 30 minutes. Stir again and again in between.
- Then put the sauce in a tall container and puree.
- Spread the sauce over the dough. As required. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180 – 200 degrees
- In the picture, the pizza is topped with vegan ham, corn, pineapple and vegan cheese.
