Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g cheese (medium or old Gouda)
  • 5 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 8 tbsp flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp dried herbs as desired
  • 1 egg(s)
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Cut the Gouda cheese into cubes (approx. 2 x 2 cm). Mix the breadcrumbs and flour with the salt and herbs. Beat the egg well. Roll the cheese cubes first in the egg and then in the breadcrumb mixture, then quickly fry them in a pan with hot oil. Be careful, work quickly so the cubes don’t overbrown and the cheese doesn’t melt. Tip: Let the breading dry for a few hours, then coat with a second coat and fry. Serve hot!
