Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 50 g butter
- 80 g sugar
- 4 m.-sized eggs
- 350 g flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1 m.-sized lemon(s), the zest of which
- 200 g cream cheese
- Oil for frying
- e.g. cinnamon
- n. B. sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, one at a time. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir into the mixture. Mix the grated lemon zest and cream cheese well with the batter and chill for 30 minutes. In the meantime, heat the deep fryer to 180 degrees Celsius. Use two teaspoons to scoop out small balls of batter and drop them into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon to serve. This makes about 25 balls. I had some batter left over and fried these balls again two days later, and they still turned out really well. So you can make them ahead of time.
