Fried herring with caraway potatoes and fried onions

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 fried herring(s), ready pickled
  • 300 g potato(s), waxy
  • 2 onions
  • 4 pickles
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • Salt
  • some butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 18 minutes; Total time approx. 28 minutes

Peel and halve the potatoes. Place them in a pot and cover with water. Add caraway seeds, salt, and a small knob of butter and cook until tender. Peel the onions, halve them, and slice them into rings. Fry them in butter in a non-stick pan until golden brown or crispy. Finally, add a little salt. Cut the gherkins into thin slices. Once the potatoes are cooked, arrange them on plates with the fried herring, fried onions, and gherkin slices.
