Fried mozzarella

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 ball of mozzarella
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Flour
  • Breadcrumbs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • possibly spice(s)
  • some oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

First, prepare a small bowl each with egg, flour, and breadcrumbs. Add a pinch of salt and any other seasonings to the flour. Squeeze out the mozzarella, pat dry, and cut into approximately 1 cm thick slices. Coat the slices first in flour, then in egg, and finally in breadcrumbs. Then, fry the breaded mozzarella slices in oil on both sides until a crispy brown crust forms. Serve the fried mozzarella “classically” with tomatoes or use it in other ways. It tastes especially good as a meat substitute in a shish kebab: Thread fried mozzarella with zucchini, eggplant, red onion, and tomato onto a shish kebab skewer and bake in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes.
