Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • Fat for frying

Instructions

Peel the onion and halve it. Use a kitchen slicer to slice the onion halves into wedges or half rings. You can also do this with a sharp knife, of course, but using a slicer makes them evenly sized. Put the flour in a bowl and toss the onions in it until they’re nice and floury. Heat the fat in a saucepan (or use a deep fryer, of course) and add the onions. Let them sizzle for about 5 minutes, until golden brown. Use tongs or a slotted spoon to transfer them to a sieve and let them drain briefly. They’re ready!
