  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 handful of carrot(s), chopped
  • 1 handful of peas, frozen
  • 1 small onion(s), red
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 spring onion(s), cut into rings
  • some white pepper
  • some salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • some sesame oil, toasted (optional)
  • 1 tbsp ketjap manis
  • 1 chili pepper(s), cut into rings (optional)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 8 hours 35 minutes

Cook the rice in a rice cooker, for example, and store it in the refrigerator overnight, ideally. Briefly sauté the onion and garlic, add the meat, season with salt, and fry until cooked through. Then add the shrimp, continue frying briefly, and clear the center of the pan. Pour the beaten egg into this empty space, fry it, stirring occasionally, and then mix it with the remaining ingredients in the pan. Mix in the peas and carrots and add the rice. Season with soy sauce, ketjap manis, salt, and pepper, and add a few drops of sesame oil if desired. Mix everything well. Finally, add the spring onions and chili, if desired.
