Fried Romaine Lettuce …
The perfect fried romaine lettuce … recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 3 kl. Heads Romaine lettuce
- 30 g Branded butter
- 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Pinches Salt
- Remove the outer leaves from the romaine lettuce and cut away any brown leaf tips. Then cut the heads in half lengthways. The hard inner wedges can stay in because they are very tender and also soften when frying (they also hold the leaves together).
- Drain the butter in a large pan with a pinch of salt and fry until it starts to brown. Now put the lettuce in with the cut surface first, add the oil and fry until golden brown over medium heat. This will take no more than 2 minutes.
- Turn the salads, sprinkle with the remaining salt, fry for another 2 minutes and serve drizzled with the butter fat from the pan.
- I served the fried salad today with small potatoes and a shovel from the frozen stock with a spicy mustard sauce **.
- ** Spicy mustard sauce with cooked meat
