Ingredients for 40 servings:

  • 125 g flour
  • 100 g cornstarch
  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), the pulp
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 45 g margarine
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Flour, for rolling out
  • 1 egg(s), including the yolk
  • 1 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Sugar (granulated sugar)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Make a dough with the flour, cornstarch, powdered sugar, vanilla bean seeds, baking powder, margarine, egg, and crème fraîche. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 45 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 3mm thick and cut out flowers. Mix the egg yolk and crème fraîche and brush over the flowers. Finally, sprinkle with sugar. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 175°C for about 10-12 minutes.
