Fruit dumplings made from curd dough

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 250 g quark (cottage cheese)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 70 g flour, smooth
  • 70 g semolina (wheat)
  • 70 g margarine (melt and cool)
  • some salt
  • Fruit, as desired
  • 100 g margarine, for rolling and
  • 150 g breadcrumbs
  • some powdered sugar
  • some cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

also for warming up in the microwave

Combine egg, curd cheese, salt, and margarine. Stir in flour and semolina, stirring briefly, and let rest for 30 minutes. Divide the dough into 10-12 pieces, flatten on a floured surface, fill with fruit if desired, and form into a dumpling. Bring water to a boil and let the dumplings simmer gently for 8-10 minutes over low heat. Remove from heat and immediately roll in breadcrumbs that have been lightly toasted in butter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and a little cinnamon and serve.
