Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter
  • 100 g honey, liquid and neutral
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 500 g oat flakes (whole grain) or spelt flakes
  • 100 g almonds, chopped
  • 100 g raisins
  • 200 g prunes or dried figs
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp almond(s) – puree
  • 1 tsp rum

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Food combining recipe – carbohydrates

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat). Whisk the egg yolks with the honey until well combined. Melt the butter and add it. Stir everything until very creamy. Finely chop the prunes or figs. Add the dried fruit (plums/figs and raisins), the oats, the almonds, the cinnamon, the salt, the almond butter, and the rum to the egg mixture. Mix lightly at first, then knead well. If the dough is too stiff, add a little more water. Shape the dough into large or small balls, as desired, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Tip: The balls will be especially fluffy if you place an ovenproof bowl of water in the oven. They will become a little crispier if you brush them with egg yolk (mixed with a little cream) before baking.
