Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 450 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g sugar

  • Jelly, currant or raspberry
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

fine cookies

Combine the flour, salt, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a bowl and mix. Add the butter in pieces and knead into the flour until crumbly. Then add the egg and egg yolks and knead into a shortcrust pastry. Shape the pastry into a flat round shape and wrap in cling film. Refrigerate for about half an hour. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Divide the dough and roll it out on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 3-4mm. Now take two different sizes of star-shaped cookie cutters and cut out stars. Place one large and one small on the baking sheet. Bake these in the oven for 8-12 minutes. They should have a light golden color on the tips. Check that they don’t get too dark. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. Continue until all the dough is used up. Now, when the large, cooled cookies are cooled, add a little jelly to the center and place the smaller star on top, so that the tips of one star point into the gap between the other. Then, dust them generously with powdered sugar.
