Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 125 g flour
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 egg(s)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • e.g. powdered sugar
  • e.g. frying fat

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

In a bowl, mix the milk, egg, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt. Sift the flour and baking powder into the batter and stir until a smooth, sticky batter forms. Heat frying oil in a pan to 175–180°C. Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle or jug ​​and pour it into the hot oil, first in circular motions and then randomly. Fry the funnel cakes for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown, carefully turning them once. Remove from the oil and drain on kitchen paper. Dust the funnel cakes with a generous amount of powdered sugar and serve while still warm.
