For the syrup:
- 400 g Sugar
- 300 g Water
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Lemon juice
For the cream:
- 100 g Wheat semolina
- 1 packet Vanilla powder
- 1 l Milk
- 4 Pc. Eggs
- 150 g Sugar
- 2 tbsp Soft butter
Finally:
- Soft butter
- 700 g Puff pastry
For the syrup:
- Boil the sugar with water and simmer until it has dissolved. Then add the cinnamon and lemon juice. Let the syrup cool down.
For the cream:
- Bring the milk to the boil in a saucepan while stirring, add the semolina and vanilla powder. Mix eggs with sugar and melted butter and stir into the semolina mixture.
- Brush a baking dish with soft butter, put half of the puff pastry in it, spread the cream on top and cover with the remaining puff pastry.
- Sprinkle with a little water and bake at 180 ° C on the bottom rack for about 30 minutes until golden.
- Take the hot semolina casserole out of the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over it.
