Garlic Plucked Bread

The perfect garlic plucked bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Bread dough

  • 600 g Flour
  • 300 ml Lukewarm water
  • 42 g Yeast fresh
  • 3 tsp Salt
  • 50 ml Oil
  • 0,5 tsp Sugar

Garlic Butter

  • 150 g Soft butter
  • 50 g Onion
  • 3 Pc. Clove of garlic
  • 20 g Chopped herbs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  1. Crumble the yeast and dissolve it in the water. Knead together with the rest of the ingredients to form a dough. Shape a smooth ball and leave it covered in a warm place for at least 30 minutes. The dough should have risen visibly.
  2. Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients for the garlic butter together.
  3. Roll out the dough to about 40x50cm. Now spread the garlic butter generously on the dough.
  4. Now I cut the dough about 5cm wide strips, fold the strips like an accordion and put them in a greased springform pan so that you can see the zigzag pattern from above. Arrange the folded strips loosely in a circle.
  5. It is best to place the springform pan on a baking sheet as some of the butter will drip out. Bake in the preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 20 minutes, then remove the ring and bake for another 10 minutes so that the edge is also slightly browned.
  6. The end of the bread looks a bit like a large rose and you can simply pluck the pieces off. You can enjoy it warm or cold.
