Garlic spaetzle with lime and oregano

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 30 g butter or margarine
  • 400 g spaetzle
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp oregano, possibly more
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 limes, as needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

fast, easy, ideal for people on a tight budget

Heat a pan and melt the butter. Add the spaetzle and fry until golden brown. Carefully add the garlic powder a little at a time, depending on the desired intensity of flavor. Add the oregano and fry briefly. Remove the pan from the heat and season the spaetzle with salt and pepper. Cut each lime in half. Squeeze two halves over the spaetzle as needed. Mix the spaetzle well again to ensure the lime juice is evenly distributed, otherwise they will taste too sour. Now arrange the finished spaetzle on the plates and place the other lime halves on top as decoration. If you don’t just want spaetzle, this dish goes well with meat and cream sauces, such as Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, or steak!
