Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 800 ml water
  • 500 g sugar
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, 12 cm, sliced
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

for a 750 ml bottle

Bring the water and all ingredients to a boil while stirring, then simmer over medium heat for about 40 minutes. Pour the syrup through a sieve and, while still boiling hot, fill a clean, pre-warmed 750 ml bottle to just below the rim. Close the lid immediately and allow to cool. The syrup will keep for about 6 months if stored in a cool, dark place. Once opened, keep the bottle refrigerated and consume promptly. Tip: Add a few slices of ginger to the bottle to intensify the flavor.
