Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 600 g gnocchi, fresh (refrigerated)
- 2 m.-sized onion(s)
- 200 g cherry tomatoes
- 100 g cheese (Appenzeller cheese) or another spicy variety, freshly grated
- 200 g whipped cream
- salt and pepper
- Cayenne pepper
- Oil, for frying and for the casserole dish
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Heat about 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and fry the gnocchi for about 5 minutes, then remove from the heat. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings. Wash and halve the tomatoes. Mix the grated cheese with the cream, season with salt and cayenne pepper. Grease a baking dish and add the gnocchi, mixing with the cream cheese. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown. Add the tomatoes and fry briefly. Season with salt and pepper. Distribute the tomatoes and onions over the gnocchi and bake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees Celsius (convection oven) for about 15 minutes.
