Gnocchi with tomato and pepper sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g gnocchi
  • 1 shallot(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 150 g tomatoes, chopped
  • 100 g roasted bell peppers
  • 80 g cream cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 2 tbsp butter for frying
  • some oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel and finely chop the shallot and garlic, and sauté in a pan with a little oil. Stir in the tomato paste and roast briefly. Add the diced tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Drain the roasted bell peppers, slice them, and add them. Blend everything thoroughly and stir in the cream cheese. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, oregano, and paprika. Fry the gnocchi in a pan with the 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the tomato and bell pepper sauce, heat briefly, and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
