Gooseberry Crumble Cake

The perfect gooseberry crumble cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the dough:

  • 250 g Flour
  • 1 packet Dry yeast
  • 25 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 100 ml Warm milk
  • 50 g Butter

For covering:

  • 1 Glass Gooseberries

For the sprinkles:

  • 150 g Flour
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 100 g Butter

For the dough:

  1. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl, add the dry yeast and mix.
  2. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, egg, warm milk and butter and knead.
  3. Cover the dough and keep it warm for about 30 minutes until it has visibly enlarged.
  4. Knead the dough again with your hands on the work surface, then roll it out in a greased springform pan.

For covering:

  1. Drain the gooseberries from the glass well and spread them on the dough.

For the sprinkles:

  1. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add sugar, vanilla sugar and butter and knead.
  3. Work the dough into sprinkles with your hands and spread over the gooseberries.
  4. Bake at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
