Goulash simple style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg goulash (pork ham goulash)
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 pinch(s) thyme, dried
  • 1 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 ½ liters of water
  • 50 ml cream
  • some flour to bind

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Wash the goulash, pat dry, and chop if desired. Peel and chop the onion, clean and finely chop the carrot. Then place everything in a roasting pan (without a lid) and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well. Braise in the oven at 200°C until browned to dark brown. Stir occasionally to prevent it from turning black. Then add the water and let it simmer in the oven at 150°C for another hour. Thicken the sauce with flour as needed. Finish with cream.
