Goulash soup

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g beef (nut)
  • 50 g lard
  • 250 g onion(s)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 liter meat broth
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 350 g potatoes
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut the beef into cubes. Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic. Peel and dice the potatoes. Brown the beef cubes in hot lard until browned on all sides. Add the onions and garlic. Sprinkle with flour and stir. Add the spices, pour in the meat broth, and simmer for about 40 minutes. Add the potatoes and cook for another 25 minutes. Serve the sour cream separately; add it if desired.
