Goulash with malt beer

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 pork schnitzels (6 P)
  • 75 g diced ham (2 P)
  • 2 small onions
  • 1 tbsp oil (3 P)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • ¼ liter malt beer (2 P)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves
  • 6 juniper berries

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Wash the schnitzel, pat dry, and cut into cubes. Peel the onion and slice it into wedges. Heat the oil in a roasting pan. Fry the ham until crispy, turning occasionally. Add the meat and sear vigorously. Season with salt and pepper. Add the onions and sear. Stir in the tomato paste and sear briefly, then deglaze with the beer and 375 ml water and bring to a boil. Add the bay leaf, cloves, and juniper berries, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour. Remove the spices before serving. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
