Grandma's style wax bean salad

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar beans (waxbreaker), yellow
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 3 tbsp chives
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (herbal)
  • 4 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

This is how we have been eating it for generations

Drain the beans in a sieve. Finely dice the onion and whisk it with the vinegar, oil, sugar, mayonnaise, and chives to make a salad dressing. Season with salt and pepper. Mix with the beans and let stand for at least 1 hour. We always prepare the salad the night before; it tastes even better that way.
