Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 4 m.-sized eggs
- 250 g sugar
- 250 g flour (preferably spelt flour type 630)
- 1 tsp cream of tartar baking powder
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- Fat and breadcrumbs for the baking tray
- 250 g butter, melted
- 250 g sugar
- 400 g flour
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 cup whipped cream
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Make a sponge cake from the dough ingredients. Spread it onto a greased baking sheet dusted with breadcrumbs. Crumble the crumb topping ingredients together and sprinkle the crumb topping on top of the dough. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 15-20 minutes (time may vary; refer to your oven’s experience). After baking, spread a cup of whipped cream on the still-hot cake. This will make it extremely moist. Tip: The crumb cake can be modified in any way you like. You can also top it with apples, plums, pears, etc. It’s very quick to mix and bake and is also a favorite with children.
