Gratinated mozzarella tomatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 400 g mozzarella or feta cheese
  • Salt and pepper, from the mill
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • some basil, for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

also highly recommended with feta

Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella and then arrange them in a greased dish, alternating them in a shingle pattern. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with thyme and drizzle with olive oil. Finely slice the garlic cloves and scatter them in the casserole. Bake at 250°C for about 15 minutes. Sprinkle with the basil leaves just before serving. If using feta, add salt sparingly.
