Greek meat and bean casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 pack of tomato puree (tetra pack)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Thyme
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 350 g beans, green
  • savory
  • 5 m.-sized potatoes
  • 200 g sheep’s cheese
  • cumin

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel and slice the potatoes, and boil them in salted water. Trim and finely chop the green beans, and cook them in salted water with the savory. For the meat sauce: Peel and dice the onions, and sauté them in 1 tablespoon of oil until translucent. Add the minced meat, season with salt, pepper, and the mustard, and fry until crumbly. Add the tomato puree, season with herbs and crushed garlic, and simmer for about 15 minutes. Layer the potato slices and beans in a baking dish, pour the meat sauce over them, and top with crumbled feta cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for about 20-30 minutes (depending on the desired degree of browning).
