Greek Mushrooms

The perfect greek mushrooms recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Fresh mushrooms
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Pc. Lemons fresh
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tsp Sweet paprika
  • 0,25 liter Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 150 g Bacon slices
  1. Rub the mushrooms with the salt – clean only if necessary, and place in a bowl with water and half of the lemon juice. After 10 minutes, drain the mushrooms and pat dry. Heat the oil in a saucepan, stir in the paprika, add the mushrooms and fry briefly. Pour in the buttermilk and simmer for about 5 minutes. Season the sauce with the remaining lemon juice, sugar and soy sauce and let it cool. Before serving, fry the bacon slices in a pan until crispy and place over the mushrooms. Rye rolls go very well with this.
