Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 cup(s) rice
  • 2 cup(s) water for the rice
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot or sweet
  • 1 can of tomato paste (125 ml)
  • 3 tsp gyro seasoning
  • 150 ml milk (see recipe!)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • olive oil
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Maybe Tabasco & chili pepper, if you like it spicy!)
  • broth, instant

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cook 1 cup of rice with the water and a little broth. For the tomato sauce, finely chop the onions and garlic. Dice the tomatoes. Sauté the onions and garlic in olive oil, then add the diced tomatoes and fry. Add the tomato paste, fry briefly, and deglaze with the milk (use enough milk to give the sauce a nice consistency—not too runny, not too thick!). Season with paprika and gyro seasoning. Season to taste with salt and pepper. If you want something spicier, add a few dashes of Tabasco and chili pepper (dried or fresh). Fold the rice into the sauce.
