Greek tomato sauce

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • ¼ tsp clove powder
  • ½ tsp nutmeg powder
  • ½ tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 gr. can/n tomatoes, chopped, 800 g
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 200 ml water
  • pepper, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

for barbecue, grill, raclette and fondue, perfect not only with aubergine dishes

Finely dice the onions and sauté in oil until translucent. Finely chop the garlic and add it to the onions along with the spices, frying briefly. Add the chopped tomatoes, water, salt, and sugar, and bring to a boil. Simmer for 15 minutes, then season to taste. Tip: Also delicious cold.
