Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 slices of wholemeal toast
  • 8 slices of cheddar cheese or other cheese of your choice
  • e.g. butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 4 minutes

Fried cheese sandwich

You’ll need a pan for this. Spread butter on four slices of toast, making sure the butter is still visible. Place the buttered side down, and top each slice with two slices of cheese. Spread butter on the remaining four slices of toast and place them on top of the cheese, buttered side up. Fry the sandwich on both sides in the hot pan over medium heat until the cheese has melted and the sandwich is nicely browned. Serve hot.
