Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 slices of toast
  • some butter
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese or other spicy cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Fried cheese sandwiches

Preheat a pan over medium heat. Butter two slices of toast on one side and place them buttered-side down in the pan. Place the cheese slices on the ungreased side. Butter the remaining two slices of toast on one side and place them buttered-side up on top of the cheese. Press firmly with a spatula and cook the bread until crispy and golden brown on both sides. The only tricky part about this recipe: the sandwich shouldn’t get too dark on the outside, but the cheese should still be melted. So, not too long, not too short. The temperature is arguably the most important factor here – the pan must not be too hot. The amount and type of cheese depends on your taste. The classic “grilled cheese sandwich,” however, calls for cheddar cheese. Enjoy! 🙂
