Grilled cheese with herbs

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 pack of feta cheese, approx. 200 g
  • 1 garlic clove(s), squeezed
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp, heaped herb mix (dip – Café de Paris) or Italian herb mix
  • some chives
  • 1 tsp onion(s), red or white, finely diced

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Make a nest for the feta out of aluminum foil so that the liquid doesn’t lose its shape and the feta can be covered in the oven. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with the crushed garlic and drizzle over the cheese. Sprinkle the herb mixture, chives, and diced onion over the feta. Cover and bake in an oven preheated to 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20 minutes on the middle rack, until the cheese is soft. Of course, many variations are possible; herbs and other ingredients can be adjusted to your liking. A version with chili, paprika, and pieces of bell pepper is also delicious. Tip: You can also prepare the cheese on the grill. Approx. 350 kcal per serving.
