Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 2 kg chicken pieces
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp cumin, ground
- 1 tbsp cinnamon, ground
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder, hot or mild
- Coriander leaves, fresh, chopped or fresh mint
Instructions
Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl, drizzle with oil, and rub it into the meat with your fingers. Sprinkle evenly with salt. Mix together the pepper, cumin, cinnamon, turmeric, and chili powder and sprinkle it over the meat. Let it rest. Light the charcoal and let it burn down until the coals turn white. Place the thighs and drumsticks on the grill and grill for 10 minutes. Place the breast pieces on the grill and grill for 8-10 minutes. Transfer the breast pieces to a platter and keep warm. Continue grilling the thighs and drumsticks for a further 5 minutes. They are cooked when juices run clear when pierced at the thickest part. Sprinkle with chopped herbs. Serve cold or warm.
