Grilled minced meat skewers

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg minced beef
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 medium-sized onions, finely diced
  • 4 clove(s) garlic, squeezed
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • some pepper, freshly ground
  • e.g. cayenne pepper
  • possibly ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • e.g. parsley, flat-leaf, chopped
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • some oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Sauté the onions in a little oil, let cool. Mix all ingredients into a meatball dough, let it marinate in the refrigerator, and season again to taste. Shape the meat into small balls or sausages and thread them onto skewers or press them around the skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 20 minutes to prevent the meat from sticking after grilling. Brush the grill grate with a little oil and grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes. The cooking time depends on the temperature and the thickness of the meat. Tastes great with tzatziki, coleslaw, flatbread, and grilled vegetables.
