Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g gyros meat
- 2 bell peppers, red
- 1 can mushrooms, medium-sized, sliced
- 1 cup of cream
- 1 cup sour cream
- 100 g cheese, grated
- 2 cloves garlic
- Salt and pepper, black
- Oil, for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
Deseed the bell peppers and dice them into small cubes. Drain the mushrooms. Brown the meat in a non-stick pan, adding a little oil if desired. Then add the diced bell peppers and brown them as well. Mix the meat and mushrooms and place them in a casserole dish. Mix the cream and sour cream, add the garlic cloves, and season with salt and pepper. Pour over the meat and sprinkle with the cheese. Cook covered at 200°C for about 30 minutes, then bake uncovered for about 15 minutes. Serve with rice and coleslaw.
