Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 1,200 g pork seasoned gyros style
- 500 g spaetzle
- salt water
- 2 bell peppers, red
- 2 onions
- 500 ml cream
- 500 ml sour cream
- 200 g cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Cook the spaetzle in salted water according to the package instructions. Trim and finely chop the bell peppers and onions. Brown the gyro meat in a large pan. Add the finely chopped onions and bell peppers and cook for a short while. Layer the spaetzle and meat in a casserole dish. Mix the cream and sour cream, season to taste, and then pour over the contents of the casserole dish. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in the oven at 170°C for 30 minutes.
