Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 packs of pizza dough with sauce in a jar
  • 1 kg schnitzel meat
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 large bell peppers
  • 300 g cheese, grated
  • some gyros spice
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

simple and delicious

Cut the schnitzel meat into small pieces to form a gyro. Also cut the onions into small pieces. Mix the meat, onions, and gyro seasoning, marinate in a little oil, and let it simmer. In the meantime, use a cake plate to cut 4 pizza bases from the two pizza bases. Pre-bake these in the oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes. Brown the meat in a pan with higher sides. Chop the bell peppers and add them. Pour over the tomato sauce from the pizza package and let it simmer again. It shouldn’t be too runny. Then cover the first pizza base with the gyro mixture and spread some cheese on top. Then, like lasagna, place another pizza base on the gyro mixture, cover with gyro mixture, sprinkle with cheese, and so on until all the bases are used up. Finish with the meat and cheese. Using the remaining raw pizza dough, form a border around the cake, similar to the way cream is spread on a cake. Then return everything to the oven at 180°C for about 25 minutes. The cheese should be brown. It’s served with tzatziki. Of course, you can also make your own pizza dough and use your own sauce.
