Gyros with pita

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g pork strips
  • 2 pita bread(s)
  • 100g tzatziki
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • ¼ cucumber(s)
  • some iceberg lettuce
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • some oregano
  • some thyme
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

For the marinade, combine the oil, lemon juice, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and crushed garlic clove in a bowl. Cover and let the meat marinate for 30 minutes. Then fry the meat in oil until crispy. Heat the pita bread in the oven. Dice the tomato and thinly slice the cucumber and onion. Fill the pita bread with the meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, and tzatziki, or arrange everything nicely on a plate.
