Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g schnitzel meat
- 400 g onion(s), white
- 8 tbsp oil for marinating
- 1 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
- some oregano
- 250 g yogurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 g cucumber(s), approx.
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 18 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 18 hours 45 minutes
Briefly rinse the pork under cold running water, pat dry, and cut into strips. Peel the onions, halve them, and cut them into strips. Mix the oil with paprika, oregano, and a little salt and pepper; marinate the meat and onion strips for 12-24 hours. On the day of preparation, remove the meat and onions from the marinade, drain well, and fry in batches in a pan, stirring occasionally. For the tzatziki, drain the yogurt. Peel the garlic cloves and finely crush them with a little salt. Peel the cucumber, halve them, remove the seeds, and cut into small cubes. Mix everything with the yogurt and olive oil. Serve the tzatziki with the meat.
