Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
French mashed potatoes – minced meat – casserole
Peel and quarter the potatoes, and cook in salted water for about 30 minutes. Dice the onion and sauté in a little butter in a pan. Add the bacon cubes. After about 5 minutes, add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and fry briefly. In the meantime, chop the parsley. When the ground beef is cooked through, place it in a bowl with the onions and bacon and mix with the egg and parsley. Drain the cooked potatoes and mash them with the milk and the remaining butter. Season with nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste. Now put half of the mashed potatoes in a baking dish and spread evenly. Spread the ground beef mixture over the top. Spread the second half of the mashed potatoes over the ground beef to cover everything. Finally, sprinkle the grated cheese (preferably fresh Parmesan) over the casserole and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top and bottom heat) for 15-20 minutes.
