Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 fish fillets (Bismarck herring from the jar)
  • 2 gherkins, diced
  • 3 eggs, hard boiled
  • salt and pepper
  • n. B. cucumber juice
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely diced
  • e.g. mayonnaise, homemade

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with homemade mayonnaise

Remove the skin from the fish fillets (from the jar) and dice finely. Finely dice the gherkins (the quantity of gherkins should be about half the amount of fish). Peel the hard-boiled eggs and finely dice them, along with the onion. Mix the diced eggs well in a bowl. Now add enough homemade mayonnaise and pickle juice to form a smooth mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with baguette or whole-grain bread. Note: Be careful, depending on the fish, it may be a bit acidic.
