A cake that will make any Harry Potter nerd scream!
The batter makes a delicious and moist chocolate cake. It’s best baked the day before. Melt the chocolate and butter on the stovetop over low heat (stirring constantly). Beat the eggs with a hand mixer until fluffy. Add the sugar, almonds, and baking powder, then the chocolate-butter mixture. Pour into two greased pans and bake at 160°C for about 45 minutes. Do the skewer test; cover with aluminum foil towards the end if necessary. Remove the pastry layers from the pan (important to prevent them from sticking too much!) and let each layer cool on a wire rack. Cut each layer in half to make four layers. Stack them on top of each other and spread jam between them. It’s best to refrigerate (using a cake ring if necessary). Prepare the frosting a few hours before serving and spread it on the cake. To do this, mix the quark or cream cheese with softened butter and sifted powdered sugar. Put a small amount, about a handful, into a separate bowl; this will be for the green lettering. Mix the larger amount with pink food coloring until the color is right. If you only have red coloring, use less, but then it will be more pink than pink. Spread this mixture on the cake. Mix the smaller amount with green food coloring and use a piping bag to write the desired text on the cake in a scrawly font. The frosting can be applied a bit sloppily; Hagrid’s cake was, too.
