Rinse the tomatoes and slice them, removing the stems. Clean and rinse the cucumber, peel if necessary, and also slice them. Peel the onions and slice them thinly. Rinse the lettuce, spin dry, and tear into bite-sized pieces. Cut the cheese into slices about 5 mm thick. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick grill pan and grill the cheese slices for about 2 minutes on each side. Then remove from the pan and let them drain on kitchen paper. Cut open the burger buns and briefly toast them cut-side down in the frying fat in the grill pan. Spread 1 tablespoon of tomato ketchup on each of the bottom halves. Then top with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, and onions, lightly salt and pepper to taste. Then place the top halves on top and serve.
