Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 200 ml water, lukewarm
  • 200 g ham
  • 200 g cheese, sliced e.g. Caverna, Esrom, Racelette or grated cheese
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • Italian herbs for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Prepare a yeast dough from the ingredients and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes, until the dough has visibly increased in size. Divide the dough into four roughly equal-sized balls and knead well again. Preheat the oven to about 250°C (top/bottom heat). Roll out each ball of dough thinly on a floured work surface and place two sheets of dough on two baking sheets brushed with olive oil. Top each sheet with the cooked ham and then with the cheese, leaving a small border around the edges. Now place the other two sheets of dough on top and press firmly into the edges. Use your fingers to make small indentations in the surface, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with the pizza herbs. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until they are appetizingly browned. Cut into quarters using a pizza cutter and serve.
