Ham and mushroom sandwich

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 150 g mushrooms
  • 4 slice(s) raw ham (Black Forest)
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp parsley, finely chopped
  • 4 slice(s) bread(s), whole grain
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 25 minutes

Cut the ham into bite-sized pieces. Peel and finely dice the onion. Clean and very finely dice the mushrooms. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the ham until crispy. Remove and set aside. Add the onions to the pan and sauté until translucent. Add the mushrooms and fry over medium heat for about 6 minutes, until all the liquid has evaporated. Season the contents of the pan with salt and pepper and let cool slightly. Mix the cream cheese, mustard, and parsley in a bowl. Stir in the mushroom mixture and season again with salt and pepper. Cover the ham and mushroom cream and refrigerate overnight. The next day, spread 1/4 of the cream on each slice of bread. Top 2 slices of bread with the ham cubes. Place the remaining slices of bread on top, spread side down, and press down lightly.
