Ham croissants

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 500 g flour
  • 70 g margarine
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • 250 g smoked or cooked ham of your choice
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some parsley
  • 39 g Parmesan
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Separate the eggs. Mix the flour and margarine together. Add 2 egg yolks, a little salt, lukewarm milk, and the dried yeast, and knead everything into a firm dough. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Finely chop the onion and ham. Brown the onion in the butter, then add the ham. Let it cool. Then add one egg yolk to the onion and ham mixture. Finely chop the parsley, grate the Parmesan cheese, and add it as well. Finally, season the entire filling with salt and pepper. Other spices can be used if desired. Now roll out the dough (about 3-4 mm thick) and cut into squares (about 10 cm). Place 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each square. Roll out the dough pieces and form small croissants. Place the croissants on a baking sheet and let them rise for another half hour. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Brush the croissants with egg white and bake for 35 minutes. Tips: To speed up the rise of the finished croissants, I recommend placing them in the oven at 50°C fan-assisted oven. These croissants could certainly be tried with other “spicy” fillings. I haven’t tried this yet, but I would be happy to receive any suggestions or tips.
