Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples
  • 40 g butter
  • 70 g brown sugar
  • 400 ml wine (mulled wine)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ small bottle(s) of rum flavoring or some real rum

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Apple pieces in mulled wine

Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin pieces. Melt the butter in a pan. Add the sugar and stir slowly until combined. Now add the apple pieces and stir slowly until they are lightly coated with the sugar mixture on all sides – this takes about two minutes. Mix the mulled wine with the rum flavoring and cinnamon, then add it to the pan. Let the mixture simmer for 12-15 minutes. If there’s too little liquid in the pan, simply add a little more mulled wine. Serve the mulled apples with vanilla pudding or custard, for example.
