Hearty creamy mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 200 ml milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • n. B. fried onions

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Boil the peeled potatoes until tender. Drain the water and let the potatoes steam on the hot stovetop. Then reduce the heat to low. Add the butter and a little milk and mash with a potato masher. Gradually add more milk and continue mashing until a smooth paste forms. Then stir in the cream cheese. Finally, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and serve sprinkled with fried onions.
