Hearty Pofesen with Bacon

The perfect hearty pofesen with bacon recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 piece Toast
  • 2 piece Bacon
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 whole Seasoned Salt
  • 1 whole Oil

Preface

  1. Pofesen are usually served sweet (filled with jam) … but I wasn’t in the mood for sweet things and there was bacon in the fridge that had to be consumed …. that’s how this version came about

Preparation is lightning fast

  1. 2 Cover slices of toast with the bacon (can also be ham or cheese, or a hearty vegetarian spread, etc …) – Fizz 1 egg in a bowl – Assemble the bread covered with bacon as a double-decker and squeeze a little with the back of your hand ( If the two pieces of bread should fall apart easily, you can put a little bit of the bubbly egg on the inside of the bread and everything stays together nicely
  2. Now turn the pofese on both sides in the bubbly egg, also dip the side parts briefly – sprinkle a little herb salt on the outside – heat 1 cm high oil in a pan and fry the pofese on both sides in a moderate heat – take out the pofese and place on paper towel sucking away the excess fat

serve

  1. For me it was in a hurry this time, so there was only some apricot mustard and a few cocktail tomatoes … but a nice salad would go well with the hearty version of the pofesen
